In short, I want to help people. As a Mormon, I believe that we actively chose to come to this earth. I believe when God gave us the chance to experience something new and exciting we agreed to it. And I believe we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. I've heard it said that we were told what our struggles and trials and experiences would be and we agreed to them wholeheartedly. If that is the case, I don't think we properly understood what those things meant. We had no idea how hard this life would be. That said, I don't think we had any idea how joyous and wonderful it could be as well. So we agreed to come here, and then life slapped us in the face a few times.
And because of that, we each need help. Sometimes I feel a little weird sharing my stories and life experiences. Sometimes I fear I'm coming off as a braggart. Sometimes I fear I'm coming off as playing the victim. But I share those stories anyway, because I hope and pray that what I experience can be of help to someone else. I hope that when I share stories about my friends and family and how loving they can be, it gives someone a chance to appreciate what they have as well. And if their situation isn't so great, I hope it gives them a chance to see that there is hope and that they too can be loved. I hope when I share my struggles, even the ones that I haven't found answers to, that maybe someone, somewhere, will know that they are not alone. I hope when I share about how religion and science work for me that someone else will see that they, too, can find answers to the questions they struggle with. When I share about Star Wars I hope that someone else will see that it's okay to be a little ridiculous at times, and that life doesn't have to be all about the serious stuff.
So why do I blog? Why do I give both those closest to me and complete strangers a glimpse into my life? Because, as the hit Disney Channel Original Movie says: We're all in this together.
